The Millstone Family Restaurants are locally owned and operated. In 1981 Jerry and Joan Scriver opened the West Main location, the first of three Millstone Family Restaurants located in the Black Hills. The West Main restaurant is operated by Part-owner Greta Holzworth, Jerry and Joan’s daughter.

In 1993 Jerry and Joan partnered with Joan’s sister, Sue Mann, in opening the North LaCrosse street restaurant. In 2012, Sue sold her interest in the restaurant to Ted L Diehl. Ted has been employed by the Millstone since 2002. Starting as a line cook and moving up through the ranks to become General Manager in 2005.

The success of the two Rapid City restaurants allowed Jerry and Joan to open the Millstone Family Restaurant of Spearfish, South Dakota in 1996. The Spearfish location is operated by Part-owner Brandy Rosenau. Brandy has worked for the Millstone Family Restaurants since 1997. Assisting her is Lacey Nepper who has worked for the Millstone’s since 2007.

The ultimate goal of the Millstone Family Restaurant’s is to give the best and friendliest service possible with an excellent homestyle meal served in a family atmosphere. We strive to deliver a quality product at a fair price. This way of going about business has been successful for over 30 years. We appreciate and are proud to serve the customers we have and look forward to getting to know the new one’s on a first name basis.
